What you are buying on a Dubai layover is not access. Almost every stop on the standard circuit is free to walk into — the souks, the Creek crossing, Al Fahidi, Jumeirah Beach, the base of the tower. What costs money is somebody who knows which road is moving at half past four, and who is watching your departure time instead of you.
That is what this one is. A licensed driver-guide meets you landside at the terminal you name, the car is yours alone, and the length is whatever you chose when you booked. Pickup covers all three terminals, the cruise terminals and city hotels, and the operator asks for your inbound flight number so the start time moves if your arrival does.
The route runs outward-in, which is the right way round: Deira and the Creek first because they are closest, then Downtown, then the coast, turning for the airport before the evening traffic sets in. On a two-hour booking you will do one half of that; on ten you will do all of it with a meal in the middle.
How the 2-hour version runs, step by step
- Pickup, landside. Your guide meets you after passport control at the point named for your terminal.
- Burj Khalifa, 20 minutes. Photographs at the base of the tallest building on earth. Going up is a separate ticket.
- The Dubai Mall and the Fountain, 20 minutes. The aquarium window, then the fountain if your booking runs past six in the evening.
- Old Souk and Al Fahidi, 20 minutes. Coral-stone lanes and wind towers, on foot, in the oldest part of the city.
- Abra across Dubai Creek, 10 minutes. A wooden water taxi from Bur Dubai to the souks of Deira.
- Jumeirah and Souk Madinat, 35 minutes. The beach, the Burj Al Arab from the sand, and the waterways behind it.
- Zabeel Palace and back. A photo stop on the way, then your departure terminal with time in hand.

Where you meet your guide
Collection is from Dubai International Airport terminals 1, 2 and 3, from the cruise terminals, or from a Dubai hotel. The operator confirms the exact meeting point after booking; in Terminal 3 it is the arrivals-hall Starbucks, and in Terminal 1 the main Spinneys near exit 0. You are met landside, after passport control, so allow for immigration before you expect to see anybody.
Know before you go
- Entrance tickets are excluded. Budget AED 199 upward if you want to go up the Burj Khalifa, and book the slot before you fly.
- Give them your flight number. The operator tracks the inbound and moves the start time; without the number it cannot.
- The fountain runs 18:00 to 23:00. If it matters to you, ask for an evening start rather than an afternoon one.
- Luggage travels in the car. If your bags are not checked through, say so when you book so the right vehicle turns up.
- Summer days reach the low forties. Between June and September, take the evening slot and keep the walking short.
- Free cancellation ends 24 hours out. A schedule change you know about the day before costs you nothing; a same-day delay is a message to the operator, not a cancellation.
