The most-reviewed layover product we list, and the one to book if you want a single decision to cover any connection between two hours and ten.

Your two to ten hours in Dubai

You choose the length, at booking

Two, four, six, eight or ten hours — the route is built to fit, not trimmed on the day.

Both airport transfers are in the fare

Collected landside at your terminal and returned against your onward flight.

Old Dubai and new Dubai in one run

The Gold Souk and the abra crossing, then the Burj Khalifa and the Fountain.

Snacks and tea come with it

A tasting of local snacks and tea, and bottled water in the car.

Five stars from over a thousand travellers

The deepest review record of anything listed here, and it has not slipped.

What you are buying on a Dubai layover is not access. Almost every stop on the standard circuit is free to walk into — the souks, the Creek crossing, Al Fahidi, Jumeirah Beach, the base of the tower. What costs money is somebody who knows which road is moving at half past four, and who is watching your departure time instead of you.

That is what this one is. A licensed driver-guide meets you landside at the terminal you name, the car is yours alone, and the length is whatever you chose when you booked. Pickup covers all three terminals, the cruise terminals and city hotels, and the operator asks for your inbound flight number so the start time moves if your arrival does.

The route runs outward-in, which is the right way round: Deira and the Creek first because they are closest, then Downtown, then the coast, turning for the airport before the evening traffic sets in. On a two-hour booking you will do one half of that; on ten you will do all of it with a meal in the middle.

How the 2-hour version runs, step by step

  1. Pickup, landside. Your guide meets you after passport control at the point named for your terminal.
  2. Burj Khalifa, 20 minutes. Photographs at the base of the tallest building on earth. Going up is a separate ticket.
  3. The Dubai Mall and the Fountain, 20 minutes. The aquarium window, then the fountain if your booking runs past six in the evening.
  4. Old Souk and Al Fahidi, 20 minutes. Coral-stone lanes and wind towers, on foot, in the oldest part of the city.
  5. Abra across Dubai Creek, 10 minutes. A wooden water taxi from Bur Dubai to the souks of Deira.
  6. Jumeirah and Souk Madinat, 35 minutes. The beach, the Burj Al Arab from the sand, and the waterways behind it.
  7. Zabeel Palace and back. A photo stop on the way, then your departure terminal with time in hand.

Who this suits, and who should book something else

Book this if

  • You have between two and ten hours and you want one booking to cover it
  • You would rather have the car to yourself than share a minibus
  • You are travelling as one or two people, where a per-person fare wins
  • Your inbound flight has a habit of being late

Book something else if

  • You are three or more, in which case a per-group fare is cheaper — see the per-group alternative, one price for up to five
  • You want Burj Khalifa admission inside the fare rather than bought separately
  • Your connection is under four hours, in which case nothing works and a lounge does more — the short-layover page explains why

What's included

In the fare

  • Bottled water
  • Professional guide
  • Seamless Airport Pick & Dropoff
  • Private transportation
  • Air-conditioned vehicle
  • Tastings of local snacks and tea

Not in the fare

  • Entrance Tickets

Where you meet your guide

Collection is from Dubai International Airport terminals 1, 2 and 3, from the cruise terminals, or from a Dubai hotel. The operator confirms the exact meeting point after booking; in Terminal 3 it is the arrivals-hall Starbucks, and in Terminal 1 the main Spinneys near exit 0. You are met landside, after passport control, so allow for immigration before you expect to see anybody.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose exactly how many hours?
Yes — two, four, six, eight or ten, selected when you book. Pick the length from your usable time rather than your connection: take three hours off for check-in and allow for immigration and the drive.
Does the price include the Burj Khalifa?
No. Entrance tickets are excluded and the tower is a photo stop. If getting to the observation deck is the point of your layover, the shared city tour will not help either — look instead at the listing that carries At The Top admission as an option.
What happens if my flight lands late?
Give the operator your inbound flight number and it tracks the arrival, shifting the pickup to match. Travellers regularly report an hour's delay being absorbed without any fuss.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The vehicle is wheelchair accessible, strollers are catered for and infant seats are available. Tell the operator what you need when you book so the right car turns up.
Can it collect me from a cruise ship?
Yes. Pickup covers the cruise terminals as well as all three airport terminals and city hotels.
Is two hours really worth it?
For old Dubai, yes — Deira, the souks and the Creek crossing sit fifteen minutes from the terminal and fill ninety minutes comfortably. For Downtown and the coast you want four hours or more.

Other ways to spend the same connection

For everything else — night departures, the lounge, the twelve-hour options — All Dubai Layover Tours lists the full set, and the timing rules tell you which of them your connection can carry. A Dubai layover private tour is only one of several shapes.
